I'm not quite sure what got into me, but I woke up Saturday morning with a burst of energy and a desire to brave Ikea the weekend before Christmas. My motivation was to finally organize the shelves in our office. When we moved in I kind of just threw everything into the shelves in order to quickly unpack, but the disorganization was really starting to bug me.
Surprisingly, the crowds at Ikea weren't that bad. Or maybe i was feeling especially patient that day. Ikea had a ton of small storage options, but I decided on a bunch of these white ones in various sizes.
I was so excited start my project that I skipped my usual 2 hot dogs plus a bag of chips and cinnamon bun for 99 cent meal deal treat at checkout and came straight home. I methodically separated all of our junk into little piles and used the perfect size box for each.
Each box got its own meaningful label. Oh! The joy of organization!
I'm so happy with the results that I've decided to tackle the rest of the room during my staycation the week after Christmas. Stay tuned for before and afters. Until then, I'll leave you with some inspiring home office pictures I found on Elements of Style.
